Open Swim
Bring your child to swim and have some fun! Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult in the water during open swim. We have two Pools at the Wausau Branch and one Pool at the Aspirus Branch that have Open Swim hours on their schedules.
Family Open Gym
Family Open Gym is a special time set aside for parents to bring their children to play basketball or run around safely. This is for families only, no other teens or adults are in the gyms during this time. Children must be accompanied by an adult during Family Open Gym.
Open Gym
Our Gymnasiums have Open Gym hours for members over the age of 10 and non-members 12. It's a great way for kids to burn-off energy and play basketball with their friends and make new friends.
Preschool Open Gym
Ages 18 Months - 4 Years
Bounce on the trampoline, walk the beam, hang on the bar, climb, and crawl! This is a chance for your toddler to gain strength, balance, and have fun!
Jr. Gymnastics
Ages 1-5 Years
We offer age specific parent/child Jr. Gymnastics classes that help with cognitive development, strength development, increased coordination, improved flexibility and helps lays the foundation for future athletes.
Family Stretch & Connect
All Ages
Come connect with other families and your own while doing a guided gentle family friendly work out including various stretching and yoga moves.
Swim Starters
Ages 6 Months - 3 Years
We offer a series of parent/child swim lessons to help your child become acclimated to the water, understand water safety and learn how to swim.
Toddler Time
Ages 2-5 Years
Get your wiggles out! This is a fun class for toddlers to be active with other toddlers while doing exciting activities and games. The class is instructor lead and parents help guide their children during play time.
Cooking Classes
Ages 3+
Our parent/child cooking classes give children the opportunity to learn new skills in the kitchen and feel that sense of accomplishment when they get to try what they made in class. New recipes every month!
Toddler Play Area
3 Years and Under
Our Wausau Branch has a Toddler Play Area for kids 3 and under. Children explore, climb and socialize in a safe and fun environment.
Mini-Care
Ages 6 Weeks - 6 Years
Mini-Care is the perfect place for your child to be safe and have fun while you participate in a class, workout, or go for a swim. Parents are required to stay in the building while utilizing Mini Care. Both branches offer Mini-Care hours and it is included in a Family Membership.
Youth Lobby
Ages 7+
The Youth Lobby is a safe center for the youth ages 7 and up. There's a foosball table, air-hockey table, TV's, games and homework center. This is a great space for kids to hang out after school or while you work out.

Our Child Care team is passionate about building a better future for kids, families and the community. We offer childcare starting at 6 weeks old.
At the Y, we believe the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for quality of life and future success. That’s why our child care programs are staffed with people who understand the cognitive, physical and social development of kids, the need children have to feel connected and supported in trying new things, and the caring and reinforcement parents and families need to help each other.

YMCA Camp Sturtevant

Summer is a time for kids to be kids. YMCA Day Camps are the place to make every precious summer day a great one! At Camp Sturtevant we believe the framework of our youth is creating experiences that build character, confidence and friendship.
After a summer at Woodson YMCA Camp Sturtevant, children’s self-esteem will rise and they will be better prepared to return to school with confidence. Our Y Camp strives to instill the Y’s four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility into every activity, every day.
